Base Station/Belt Pack PC Software

IMPORTANT! – July 7, 2022 Update
Do not attempt to use this software version 3.1.6, and the associated firmware, if you have a v1 base. The v1 base is identified by a single Base Link port (Neutrik etherCON) on the rear panel. Current v2 bases have two stacked RJ45 ports for Base Link.

Do not attempt to use this latest software version 3.1.6 if your existing firmware is earlier than 2017.

Example: Firmware BASE170523A or BELT170523A, the 17 refers to the year. If your current firmware is 16 or less, please call technical support for further information. Trying to install over year 16 and prior will cause the base and packs to stop operating as an intermediate update is necessary.

IF YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR ASSISTANCE.

While updating firmware on Body Packs and Base Stations, please disable any file syncing and computer protection software such as Dropbox and Malwarebytes. Disabling them will enable faster and more stable firmware updating times.

Connecting your base station or belt pack to a computer for programming and firmware updating may take a second attempt to complete the USB driver configuration for that device.

Note: RAD Software does not work with Windows XP, support for XP is no longer provided.

Warning: In order to legally continue to operate your UV-1G systems you must update to the newest software/firmware package. Version 3.1.6 update will limit the tuning range and transmit power of your UV-1G system to meet the July 13, 2020 FCC Post 600MHz Specifications. The update is required as of July 13, 2020. Contact technical support with questions or concerns prior to updating your system to Version 3.1.6.
